Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde on their radar, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The left-back has over 18 months left on his deal and securing his renewal is a priority for the La Liga side. They want to offer him an improved deal, especially since the 19-year-old has established at the Camp Nou.
Barca have been holding talks with the defender’s agent, Jorge Mendes, for several months. They need to take care of La Liga’s fair play rules when making an offer to Balde.
There is no fear at of losing the Spain international since he is aware of the Catalan club’s confidence in him. Meanwhile, his displays have drawn Manchester United and PSG’s attention.
Without a new deal, clubs and intermediaries will ‘tempt’ Balde with ‘succulent offers’. The fullback had earlier admitted that he ‘would like to play’ for Manchester United one day. This and the Red Devils’ ties with Mendes could cause concerns to Barca.
Although Xavi Hernández’s side are not in a rush, Mundo warns Balde’s renewal should not be delayed in order to avoid any possible attack from United, PSG or another club.
Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are the two left-backs at Old Trafford and Erik ten Hag’s options increased after Brandon Williams regained full fitness.
It doesn’t make sense for United to go out and sign Balde unless they part ways with two of the aforementioned players.
