Manchester City are ‘willing to scratch their pockets’ for players like Real Sociedad’s Mikel Oyarzabal, even though Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is their ‘big target’ this summer.

That’s according to La Razón, and they add the Citizens can afford to meet the €75m price tag set by La Real, if they end up selling Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling. Real Sociedad will ‘not negotiate’ his sale if the offer is below the aforementioned figure.

Over the past few days, rumours have been pushing the two City players away from the Etihad, and if both or either of them end up leaving the club, the English champions ‘will return to charge’ for the La Liga forward.

Leroy Sané left Pep Guardiola’s side for Bayern Munich in 2020, a year after he came close to joining the Bavarian club.

The Premier League winners looked at Oyarzabal as a potential replacement for the Germany international in 2019, but decided not to make an approach for him after Sané failed to get a move away from City that summer.

If the Spaniard were to move to Manchester, Real Sociedad will use part of the money from his sale to replace him with Paris Saint-Germain’s Pablo Sarabia.

La Razón’s title states City ‘will return to charge’ for Oyarzabal, but within the report there isn’t anything concrete to back it up.

If City have a firm interest in the player, one would expect to see more reports from Spain on this topic.
