Although the Italian media recently linked Grêmio winger Everton to the likes of Milan, Manchester United and West Ham, the Brazilian press sticks with their old claims.
After reporting Manchester City’s interest in the player for years, website Globo Esporte repeats it this week, as the chase for the 23-year-old goes on.
Everton did pretty well for the national team in the last international break, and that’s what made rumours reappear, especially with Milan now entering the race.
With such a noise in the past few days, Grêmio had to comment on their star’s possible departure, and have even set a price for the clubs who want to come and get him.
With the Italian media saying Everton would cost €40m, Grêmio’s director of football Deco Nascimento has claimed that this is the amount to start the negotiations.
Globo Esporte say Manchester City are one of the clubs who have made contact and spoke to agent Gilmar Veloz about the player’s situation.
Milan’s conversations with the representative have also been confirmed by Globo Esporte, so maybe Everton is finally heading to European football this summer, no matter to which league.
It’s worth recalling that not long ago, a bid from Manchester City had been claimed by the Brazilian press. As it was over €40m, we’ll consider that it never really existed.
