Having already spent around £70m on Nathan Aké and Ferran Torres, Manchester City still want to reinforce their squad some more in order to close the gap on Liverpool.

The Cityzens never thought they would end up so far behind Jürgen Klopp’s men last season, and Pep Guardiola appears keen to rectify that immediately.

While Torres will help fill the gap left by Leroy Sané’s departure, another one will be created when David Silva leaves on a free, which is where Houssem Aouar could come in.

Manchester City have been linked a number of times with a move for the Lyon star, and the Ligue 1 club have never hidden the fact that a good offer could see him transferred.

That’s what Le Parisien push on Thursday, explaining that should ‘a bid deemed satisfying arrive, Lyon won’t hold him back’.

While there is no agreement between Aouar and his club officially, a club source told the newspaper ‘everyone knows’ what the situation is, which also applies to Moussa Dembélé.

Regarding Aouar, it’s said Manchester City ‘aren’t hiding their interest’, just like ‘another big European club’, who aren’t named but reports in Italy suggest it could very well be Juventus.
