In need to strengthen their attack for this season, Manchester United ended up signing Antony from Ajax towards the end of the summer transfer window.
Prior to bringing the Brazilian to Old Trafford, the Red Devils made an attempt to sign Bologna’s Marko Arnautović.
The deal didn’t take shape and there was backlash from Manchester United fans over the possibility of the 33-year-old arriving at the club.
The Austria international’s agent insisted in October that it was his client who rejected Erik ten Hag’s side and not the other way around. Arnautović has managed eight goals and one assist from 13 league games this season and is linked with a move to Fiorentina in January.
Former Venezia defender Beppe Accardi, who now works as an agent, believes that it will be strange if the player joins Fiorentina after refusing to join Manchester United.
Radio Firenzeviola interviewed Accardi and when asked about the possibility of Arnautović joining Fiorentina, he said: “I see this possibility as very difficult. If he rejects Manchester United and then comes to Fiorentina, he’s either in love with the city and with Viola’s history or it’s madness.”
It’s to be noted that Accardi doesn’t represent or manage the former West Ham United man.
