Earlier on Sunday, reports from the Belgian media sounded sure that Daiki Hashioka was leaving St. Truiden to Leeds United.
It was claimed that the fullback was ‘on his way’ to Elland Road, as the talks for his move were ‘well advanced’.
There’s a bucket of cold water for Leeds fans, though, as Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri now claims Hashioka may actually be moving to Luton Town instead.
It’s said that just like the Whites, the Hatters also have an agreement with St. Truiden for the player, and it’s now up to him to make the choice.
Tavolieri claims that what may make the difference is Luton Town’s place in the Premier League. It’s said that gives them a ‘natural advantage’ over Leeds United in the race.
Regardless of where Hashioka goes to, his transfer should cost around €2m, with STVV ready to take that amount, regardless of which club he joins.
The same journalist had claimed this morning that the player was ‘keen’ on joining Leeds, and we shall now see if the chance to play in the Premier League for Luton Town will change his mind.
