Tottenham Hotspur are one of the four teams currently unbeaten in the Premier League this season and were able to maintain that record following a 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Sunday.
Son Heung-min scored a brace to help Spurs come from behind twice to earn a point at the Emirates. After the derby clash, the forward spoke to Viaplay, relayed by Voetbal Zone.
Son was asked about Micky van de Ven, who joined Tottenham from VfL Wolfsburg in the last window.
The 22-year-old has made seven appearances and already formed a partnership with Cristian Romero in the heart of Spurs’ defence.
Van de Ven’s quick adaptation and fine displays have pleased Son, who has also backed the centre-back to excel further at the Premier League side. The 31-year-old attacker has also explained how he’s been able to bond with the Dutchman easily.
“Micky played fantastic today and has actually played the entire season well. We understand each other well, also because we both speak German,” he said.
“I love him as a player and as a person. He’s still young and wants to continue developing. He has the potential to become a big player. I am happy to play with him, it’s a real pleasure.”
Like Van de Ven, the South Korean has had a good start to the season, scoring five goals from six league games. The duo have been vital in helping Ange Postecoglou’s side currently sit fourth in the table, four points behind leaders Manchester City.
