Aston Villa signed Nicolò Zaniolo from Galatasaray on a loan deal with an obligation to buy if certain set conditions are met.

Earlier this month, the Italy international impressed in his country’s 2-1 win over Ukraine, and since then he’s made three consecutive starts for the Villans.

Focusing on the 24-year-old’s latest display in Aston Villa’s 1-0 win over Chelsea, Calciomercato say ‘we saw a healthy, confident player, happy to play football’.

Back in June, the winger had expressed his ‘dream’ to play for Juventus. After relaying his comments, the report states the Serie A side ‘continue to think’ of him and the ‘interest is mutual’.

It’s said Juve sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has the attacker’s name in his notebook but cannot take further steps due to the Old Lady’s economic situation.

An approach for Zaniolo has been postponed until next summer and a potential deal would depend on several factors, including Juve’s financial health.

Although he dreams of playing for the Serie A side, the attacker now only has Aston Villa in his mind. However, Calciomercato state ‘anything can happen’ with the player’s future after this season, more so if he receives a call from the Turin club.

If Aston Villa were to make Zaniolo’s stay permanent, Juve will have an uphill task to take him away from Villa Park.
