Originally believed to be for a loan deal, the transfer talks between Manchester United and FC Groningen for Noam Emeran have changed direction.
As has already been reported elsewhere, the Red Devils are close to letting the 20-year-old leave the club permanently to the second-tier side.
Voetbal International have an update on the situation on Monday afternoon, claiming the Dutch side ‘hopes for the arrival’ of the Manchester United youngster ‘soon’.
The deal is ‘very likely’ to be a permanent transfer, after Groningen decided they are now ‘betting on a permanent deal’.
Nothing has been fully confirmed just yet, as they are hoping to ‘get clarity’ on the situation in the near future, but ‘it looks good’.
Regardless of the type of deal, it is ‘in the final stages’, meaning that Emeran looks set to be leaving Manchester United after arriving from Amiens’ U19s back in 2019 for €2m without ever making an appearance in the first team outside of friendlies.
There are also few details about any fee the Premier League club will be receiving or whether there will be any sort of clause they could benefit from down the line, such as future percentage of a sale or a buy-back clause.
