Goalkeeper Ivo Grbic is ‘living a nightmare’ at Sheffield United after arriving in the January transfer window from Atletico Madrid.

That’s according to AS, who cover the player today and how it’s ‘difficult to get worse’ for the new Sheffield United man.

They explain how he arrived in January from Atletico and was immediately given the number one position by Chris Wilder, making his debut the day after signing.

So far, though, it’s been nothing but a disaster for him as he’s had four defeats in four games and conceded a whopping 14 goals, including six in the recent hammering by Arsenal.

That game was ‘especially painful’ because they were already 5-0 down by the 39th minute, although ‘he could do little’ about the goals Sheffield United conceded.

Indeed, there is little reason to believe he is to blame given how Sheffield United have performed this season, although ‘it’s not much consolation’ to the January signing really.

Even worse, his form so far at Brammall Lane appears to have ruined his chances of going to Euro 2024, with the hope having been he could put himself back in contention in Sheffield after barely featuring at Atletico, but the opposite has happened.

Indeed, he’s been left out for the next international break despite there being four goalkeepers in the squad, a further sign that his time at Sheffield United is not having the desired effect.
