Emmanuel Petit, who spent a number of years at Arsenal during his playing career, has something to say about the Gunners’ attack.

As the Frenchman was this week interviewed by Wett Freunde, he was asked about Gabriel Jesus and potential signings that could help the striker.

Petit didn’t hold anything back when giving his assessment of the Brazilian, and pointed out that Arsenal could bring some reinforcements to help him there.

“Gabriel Jesus always gives his all, but he always lacks the coolness in front of goal. Perhaps a big-name new signing would somehow give him wings,” said Petit.

“I think Osimhen is more likely to move elsewhere, for example to Paris Saint Germain or Manchester United, because they simply have more money. Evan Ferguson would prevail due to his effectiveness and coolness.”

Even though Arsenal are having a very positive campaign, Jesus only has eight goals and five assists in 24 appearances this season.

The Brazilian is far from being the Gunners’ top scorer so far, as Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli all have more goals than him to date.

To be fair to Jesus, being a great goalscorer was never his strong point, so Mikel Arteta surely knows that when lining him up as a centre-forward.

Now if a striker with that ability could really help Arsenal next season, that’s something the board will surely discuss in the summer.

Today, we saw them linked to Viktor Gyokeres, who has 32 goals scored so far.
