Amid all the news of managers being sacked left, right and centre around Europe, one man remains at the helm of his underperforming team, and that’s Jürgen Klopp.
The German manager and his squad aren’t having the best season compared to what they have been able to produce over the past few years, and that’s led to speculation he could leave at some point.
Either way, his situation is being closely monitored by one club, and that’s Real Madrid, according to Le10 Sport in France, who report the news as an exclusive.
The outlet explain that with Carlo Ancelotti seemingly on his way to take over the Brazil national team, the La Liga side are thinking about the future, and their favourite would be the Liverpool manager.
Klopp is said to be ‘clearly the number one objective’ for Real Madrid to replace their current coach, and ‘informal exchanges’ have already taken place between the club and the German’s entourage.
They point out that his situation at Anfield is now ‘very fragile’, with the 4-1 loss at the weekend to Manchester City certainly not helping things.
Down his end, they claim Klopp ‘feels it’s time to leave’, although we will believe that when we see it, especially since we’ve seen these types of stories before, with them never coming to anything.
