Calciomercato have picked up a small-in-size-but-big-in-claim story from Rai Sport, an Italian radio station.
The claim is that Liverpool are keen on Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne. It’s not the first time such a suggestion has been made, with the Italian media clearly believing Insigne would fit Jurgen Klopp’s game-plan at Anfield.
When previous players have left, such as Philippe Coutinho moving to Barcelona, Insigne has been one of those linked more than most. Despite that, it’s long been thought unlikely the footballer would actually leave Napoli, a club he has a huge connection to.
The claim states that Liverpool will ‘soon come forward’ to sign the player and make an attempt which they obviously hope the Serie A club will accept. It’s added that Insigne is a player Klopp ‘likes so much’, so that would clearly be the motivation behind a move.
The Premier League club are said to be ‘serious’ with their intention, but there’s no report of a potential fee or wages which would be offered to tempt the player.
