In need of a new midfielder, Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham and Benfica’s Enzo Fernández.
Apart from the duo, recent reports coming out of Italy have explained the Reds have AC Milan’s Ismaël Bennacer on their agenda.
Two days ago, Calciomercato.it stated Liverpool are carefully monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation at the San Siro.
The Algeria international’s contract expires in 2024 and his agent, Enzo Raiola, met with the Rossoneri on Wednesday. That’s according to Tuttosport, who state the Serie A side’s offer would reach €4m net per year for a contract until 2027.
Raiola then met with his client to discuss in detail about the proposal made by Milan. It’s said the player would ‘think’ about whether or not to accept this offer, also because he has received interest from Liverpool.
Bennacer came off the bench in Milan’s friendly tie against Liverpool in Dubai earlier this month. It’s claimed Jürgen Klopp’s side wanted to hold ‘direct talks’ with the midfielder during this tour.
Despite Liverpool’s interest, the will of Milan and Bennacer is to continue their relationship beyond 2024, and Tuttosport suggest the Algerian would favour accepting their renewal offer at this moment in time.
