On July 25th, we relayed news from Spain that Liverpool’s interest in Saúl Ñíguez ‘must translate into something serious’ for the Merseyside club to sign the Atlético Madrid man.
The Reds and Manchester United are regularly named as suitors for the midfielder and the two English sides are again mentioned in today’s edition of AS.
Regarding United, the newspaper relays what’s said in the English press about the Old Trafford club wanting to submit a €50m offer for the 26-year-old.
AS doesn’t deny or confirm these claims, but they do state the fee quoted is what the La Liga winners are looking for the Spaniard this summer.
Jürgen Klopp’s side are also in the picture to sign the player and the report adds they ‘want’ Saúl.
Saúl has a ‘good poster’ in the Premier League and it could also be a ‘good destination’ for him, considering he will have difficulties to enjoy regular playing time following Rodrigo De Paul’s arrival and Thomas Lemar’s resurgence last season.
AS state the versatile player’s departure would be ‘positive’ for Atlético.
Therefore, Diego Simeone’s side have given Saúl an option to find a new club and an exit could be carried out if they receive an ‘interesting offer’.
