On August 21st, De Telegraaf reported Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch is flattered to have received interest from a few clubs, including Liverpool.
Later that day, we relayed news from Germany that the Reds were favourites to sign the 21-year-old, if the Bavarian club were to sanction a move for him.
According to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg, there’s a feeling that Liverpool could push to sign the former Ajax man before the window closes on Friday.
He adds Bayern are waiting to receive a concrete offer for the midfielder. This suggests the Bundeligsa winners are open to selling him and it should come as encouragement for Jürgen Klopp’s side.
Thomas Tuchel has admitted the Netherlands international would have a substitute’s role at the moment. The Bundesliga winners have played three games and Gravenberch, who is currently the fourth choice, has managed nine minutes of action so far this season.
Plettenberg claims the Dutchman is ‘unhappy’ with his situation at Bayern and wants to feature regularly this season, which he could achieve if he joins Liverpool.
On Sunday, Bild talked about a loan swap deal with Manchester United involving Scott McTominay and Gravenberch. However, the Sky journalist now claims the Bayern player isn’t aware of this.
