Starting the season injured, Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté returned for the 7-1 win over Rangers, but then disappeared again with a muscle issue.
He shouldn’t be out for too long, and Jürgen Klopp even suggested the centre-back could return to first-team training in the coming days.
Still, there’s no denying the Liverpool backline are better off with him starting alongside Virgil van Dijk, who has himself shown some frailties in a turbulent start of the season at Anfield.
Konaté, down his end, will be doing everything he can to get back to full fitness, and in an interview to Onze Mondial, revealed his habits, which includes eating the same breakfast every single day when he can.
He said: “Training every day. I often eat the same breakfast: scrambled eggs, cheese, chicken with a freshly squeezed orange juice.”
He also explained he returns to Paris to see his family as often as possible, even if he only has 24 hours to do so, helped by direct flights between Manchester and the French capital, as well as playing Call of Duty almost every day when he gets back from training.
While his breakfast choice might seem a bit strange, he also likes the finer things in life, as revealed when he was asked what he could take with him if he were stranded by himself somewhere.
When ruling out his PlayStation, because he wouldn’t have a signal, and told he couldn’t take family members with him, he was left with no other option but to say: “OK, well, I would take truffle ravioli (smiles). And a harpoon because I would need to fish to feed myself. And if there is signal, I would take a little iPhone with 4G, it can help.”
Since signing for Liverpool from RB Leipzig last season, the towering centre-back has made 31 appearances for the Reds, scored three goals and assisted another.
