Philippe Coutinho’s outstanding start to the season means he is regularly mentioned in the columns of the Spanish newspapers. The Spanish media believe the Brazilian star is a target for both Barcelona and Real Madrid, and it’s filling plenty of column inches.
The season has just started, but it appears the Liverpool star is a long term target for the Spanish giants, or at least an idea. Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo on Sunday further discuss about the future of Coutinho.
They explain how the 24-year-old has become a leader for Liverpool, after the departure of Luis Suarez for Barcelona.
Mundo Deportivo believe the only way Liverpool can keep Coutinho beyond this season is if they can win a trophy, and make sure the Merseyside club are able to compete among the best.
The Spanish newspaper say Liverpool were ‘smartest in class’ to secure the signing of Coutinho in a €10m deal from Inter, and probably won’t sell him for anything below €60m.
We’re quite certain interested clubs might have to pay much more than €60m if the Brazilian can keep his momentum up throughout the season.
