Liverpool have ‘significantly raised’ their offer to Celta Vigo youngster Gabri Veiga as they look to be the ones to secure his signature this summer.
That’s according to Sport, who say the battle for the youngster is ‘at its peak’ and Liverpool are very much one of the fighters.
They explain that several teams have been positioning themselves for the youngster, who is one of the hottest rated talents in Europe after an impressive season in Spain.
Now is the time for them to finalise their offers and at this moment in time he seems ‘closer and closer’ to moving to the Premier League.
After being pushed out of the race for Jude Bellingham they are willing to push ahead for Veiga and have ‘significantly raised’ the contract offer they’ve made to the player.
It’s believed that they have a ‘certain advantage’ over their rivals, although they are yet to secure pre-agreement with the player to move to Anfield.
It seems Liverpool are willing to pay the player a big sum to convince the player and it’s also made clear that they can ‘satisfy the demands’ being made by Celta.
They’ve made it clear that Veiga will only leave when a club matches the player’s €40m release clause, with President Carlos Mouriño not bluffing when he’s said as much publicly.
