Liverpool have been ‘seduced’ by Khéphren Thuram’s performances for Nice this season as they look to bolster their midfield in the summer.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the 22-year-old could be the alternative to Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.
Liverpool had been keen on signing Bellingham since last summer but reports this week have claimed they’ve moved on from the England star after his price tag became too high.
They’re now looking for alternative players for the summer transfer window, with Jurgen Klopp keen to completely rebuild his midfield at the end of the season after a disappointing campaign.
FM now report that Liverpool are one of the many elite sides in Europe who are ‘dreaming of acquiring’ Thuram following his performances this season.
They are ‘seduced’ by what they have seen of the 22-year-old so far and like the rest of Europe believe he could be one the next great French midfield talents.
They’re keen to make their move for him, although Nice are likely to ask for at least €60m for their man. That figure could rise significantly and quickly depending on the number of clubs who become ‘concretely interested’.
Liverpool are likely to be one of them although the player is yet to make a decision about his future and neither have Nice, who could also try to keep hold of him to let him continue his rapid development before letting him go next season.
