Liverpool have put Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jesper Lindstrøm ‘on their list’ of targets for the summer as the German club eye up a sale to raise funds.
That’s according to SportBILD, who say Lindstrøm could be moved on as the Bundesliga side look to balance the books by selling off their prized assets.
They explain that Sports director Markus Krösche is expected to generate a €20m surplus in the sporting sector ahead of next season, with the coming two transfer windows set to count towards that.
Lindstrøm is one of those who may be sold off, with it believed he could be signed for a fee over €30m thanks to interest from Arsenal, Liverpool and Napoli, who all have him ‘on their list’ of potential targets.
Liverpool’s interest in him is a longstanding one, with a report in the January transfer window stating that they had enquired about him.
That report at the time made it clear Lindstrøm was in fact a Liverpool fan, having told TV2 “I’ve always said that I’m a Liverpool fan, so it could be really cool to play for Liverpool at some point.”
That opportunity may now be presented to him, with the Reds putting him on their list of potential targets and Eintracht Frankfurt more than happy to sanction a sale if the price is right.
