Liverpool have set their eyes on Napoli’s Hirving Lozano, according to Calciomercato.
The Mexico international has just over 18 months left on his current deal and his long-term future seems to be away from the Serie A side.
It’s said the 27-year-old’s time at the Naples club could be coming to an end and he may ‘soon decide to change’ clubs after this season. Therefore, the hypothesis for the forward to leave the Italian club is ‘concrete’.
The former PSV Eindhoven star has been on the agenda of several Premier League sides for some time, including Liverpool. Calciomercato explain the Reds are ‘in pole position’ to secure his services.
That’s about the only piece of information mentioned about Jürgen Klopp’s side wanting Lozano.
He mainly operates on the right wing, a position that has been cemented by Mohamed Salah at Anfield. If the Napoli attacker were to join Liverpool, he is likely to provide cover to the Egyptian.
Lozano has four goals and three assists from 19 matches this season for Napoli.
For Luciano Spalletti’s side to find Lozano’s successor, they must have to first understand his intentions for his future. At the moment, it looks like the Mexican is inclined to leave them next summer.
