Becoming Manchester United’s first signing under José Mourinho, Eric Bailly will be hoping to have an instant impact at his new club when he finally gets settled in.
Bought, one can only assume, to play alongside Chris Smalling in the centre of United’s defence, the Ivorian has seen his stock in world football rise drastically over the past couple of seasons, thanks to a great albeit short time at Villarreal.
Bought from Espanyol last summer, the Yellow Submarine managed to make a £20m+ profit on the 22-year-old, and will be delighted at the monetary turnover.
Another bunch of people who are incredibly happy about the transfer are the Ivory Coast national team, with Kolo Touré, who played alongside the youngster for his country, speaking to sport-ivoire.ci about the move.
He said: “We’re proud of Eric. We’re all very happy for his move to Manchester United. He’s a calm guy who works a lot, and today, this work has been noticed by one of the biggest clubs in Europe. It’s the whole country who’s honoured.”
Hear-warming words from a player who was recently announced as being released by Liverpool and will himself be looking for a new club this summer when his deal with the Merseyside club runs out on the 30th of June.
