Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino has been offered to AC Milan ‘through intermediaries’, who are considering him as a potential option to bolster their forward line this summer.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who say the Brazilian has a desire for ‘personal revenge’ after finding himself out of the picture at Liverpool in the last few months.
The newspaper explains that Milan are chasing reinforcements for next season, with a very busy summer planned and Via Also Rossi, the club’s headquarters.
There is likely to be a lot of managers and intermediaries coming and going because Milan need to ‘deeply change’ the squad with at least five to six additions.
The current team has been shown to have big gaps this season, and the biggest one to be filled is the need for a 15-20 goals per season striker.
Whether Firmino could be classified as such is up for debate but with Liverpool officially announcing he will be leaving at the end of the season, he has been ‘proposed to the Rossoneri’ through intermediaries.
An experienced player available on a free would appeal to Milan, who jumped at the chance to sign Divock Origi after he left Liverpool last year.
That deal hasn’t worked out and is likely to mean they won’t jump immediately for Firmino, with it made clear they haven’t moved decisively on anyone as yet because they cannot afford to make any mistakes.
Firmino has been offered, though, as he plans for life away from Anfield and looks to prove any doubters he may have, wrong.
