Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Fulham, Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds United and a few other clubs have been linked with Divock Origi.
The striker has been forced to settle for a substitute role at Liverpool, with Jürgen Klopp preferring Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino to lead his side’s attack.
Diogo Jota arrived at Anfield on Saturday, and according to Het Belang van Limburg, the Portuguese is now ahead of Origi in Klopp’s pecking order.
The 25-year-old’s last official game for the Reds was against Newcastle in July, and Jota’s signing is likely to further restrict his minutes at the Merseyside club.
It’s claimed playing time matters a lot to the Belgium international, and he would have more clarity on whether to stay or leave Liverpool on Thursday.
Klopp’s men take on League One side Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup tie later today. If Origi doesn’t get a chance in the cup competition, the report then adds ‘he knows what to do; leave’ Liverpool.
HBVL are of the belief the 25-year-old should leave the English champions on a permanent transfer rather than going out on loan.
The frontman’s market value is around €16m, it’s not clear if the clubs linked to him, like Villa, Newcastle, Fulham, Brighton, Leeds and others, are ready to invest such a figure in signing him.
Origi, who is linked to clubs in England and across Europe, has not asked to leave Liverpool. The newspaper suggests he’ll ‘know more’, on whether to stay or leave, after Thursday’s cup tie.
