Liverpool and Newcastle United have both shown an interest Juventus defender Dean Huijsen this summer, both having made enquiries about him.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who list Liverpool and Newcastle among the clubs who have asked for information on Juventus’ ‘little gem’.
The newspaper reports while Juventus seem focused on arrivals at this moment in time, director of football Cristiano Giuntoli also needs to secure exits to balance the squad and the books.
He wants to sell players on to be able to fund a move for Atalanta’s Teeun Koopmeiners and Huijsen is one of those who can be moved on.
Fortunately, Huijsen has a growing list of admirers with Bayer Leverkusen the latest to have asked for information, joining a list that include Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Stuttgart, Liverpool, Newcastle and PSG.
None of those clubs have gone as far as to discuss a deal with Juventus yet, presumably because the Italian side have put a €30m asking price on the defender’s head.
That’s perhaps too rich for Liverpool or Newcastle at this moment in time, although if they were to make sales then there is every chance that could change.
The Reds, for example, have been looking to bring in €20m for Sepp van den Berg, a sum that would largely help them cover any deal for Huijsen.
We’re not suggesting that is the case, but it might be an idea they’ll explore after they, and the Magpies, both expressed an interest.
