The transfer window may have just closed, but Liverpool are already back to getting linked to Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella.
This story comes from outlet Il Romanista, who today claims that the midfielder is ‘close’ to a transfer out of the Nerazzurri.
There’s one main suitor for that signing, and that’s Liverpool. The story writes that the Reds ‘have never given up hope’ of buying Barella, and ‘continue to insist’ on that chase.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are said to be ‘vigilant’ on his situation and could place an offer which would be hard for Inter Milan to turn down.
The Nerazzurri know how important Barella is, but are ready to evaluate the ‘maxi offer’ they receive for him. Especially because they already have a potential replacement at the club in Davide Frattesi.
The story just doesn’t say how much it would take to sign the Inter Milan star, but back in the summer, it was claimed that Liverpool would need to spend over €80m to get him bought, and with such a long chase, they’re probably very aware of that.
We must also add it’s also a bit odd to see a Roma focused website discuss all this, but there are a few similar stories appearing in Italy, so it’s something worth keeping an eye on.
