On Thursday, we covered multiple claims from Turkey that Trabzonspor and Fenerbahçe are planning to make late moves to sign Liverpool’s Thiago Alcântara.

Later that day, AS reported the 32-year-old ‘wants to leave’ the Reds and make a switch to Turkey, where the transfer window closes on Friday.

Fanatik state that while Trabzonspor showed interest in the Liverpool player, his agent had offered him to both Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş.

It’s claimed the midfielder’s agent held talks with the Yellow Canaries while the Black Eagles requested information about the cost of the operation.

There were even suggestions that the Spain international’s representative made a trip to Turkey to negotiate a deal, but now it’s been stated there was a misunderstanding over the trip.

Thiago’s agent Alejandro Boesch has told Sports Digitale that his partner, Jordi Figueras, was in Turkey for a personal reason.

“My partner Jordi went to Istanbul for a holiday. Thiago will not play in Turkey,” he said.

A hip injury has forced the former Barcelona man to spend time on the sidelines since April and recent claims have stated he should return to action at the end of this month.

Thiago’s contract lasts until 2024, and both he and Liverpool have to make a decision on his future in the coming months.
