Liverpool are one of the clubs in the picture to sign VfB Stuttgart’s Waldemar Anton in the summer window, according to Bild.
The centre-back has featured regularly since he joined the Bundesliga side from Hannover 96 in 2020, and his recent performances helped him make debut for Germany in March.
Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann has included the 27-year-old in his squad for the Euros.
Bild look at some of these national players who could change clubs in the upcoming window, and they mention Liverpool’s interest when discussing Anton’s future.
Anton is third-choice centre-back for Nagelsmann, and he’s on the radar of Liverpool and a few top Bundesliga sides like Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund.
Coming back to the Reds, it’s explained that they asked for information about the player two weeks ago. The outlet says he’s ‘in demand’ because of his fine displays for Stuttgart.
The Merseyside club have a good relationship with Stuttgart after signing Wataru Endō last summer. Meanwhile, Bild say Anton has a €22.5m release clause in a deal that lasts until 2027.
