Turkish newspaper Fotomac report Fenerbahce are in talks with Barcelona over a potential move for Yerry Mina but they are facing competition from Liverpool.
Mina has impressed in this summer’s World Cup in Russia, scoring the winner in the game against Senegal to send his country through to the knockout stages.
According to Fotomac, Fenerbahce are close to getting a loan deal for Mina and the Turkish club’s president Ali Y. Koc is hoping his relationship with Barcelona will help him find an agreement.
However, Fotomac say the late interest from Liverpool has changed the situation for the Yellow Canaries, and now there is uncertainty if he will be heading to Istanbul.
Due the 23-year old performances in the World Cup, Mina is now a target for Liverpool, according to the claims, and Jurgen Klopp is exploring the option of signing the Barcelona man.
Mina only joined Barcelona six months ago and is under contract at the Camp Nou until 2023. The Catalan press expect the Colombian to leave Barca this summer, to free up a non-EU place at the club.
Liverpool interest is certainly intriguing, but hasn’t yet been covered by the Catalan media.
