Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are keen on a 19 year old Spanish footballer, who currently plays for Espanyol.
Midfielder Marc Roca is in renewal talks with Espanyol, but Marca say Liverpool are one of the clubs paying special attention to those talks.
Should Espanyol fail to come to an agreement with the young footballer, then Liverpool will be ready and very able to pounce and take Roca to England.
Right now, Espanyol only have the player protected by a buyout clause of €1.5m, which would be relative pennies for Liverpool in the transfer market, and such an amount that a gamble could be taken.
Espanyol want to increase that amount significantly, and give the player a pay rise. He’s working to get more firmly into the club’s first team plans, and may also want some assurances about his future.
Of course, Liverpool interest would be rather helpful to get Roca a new deal, so a lot depends on how firm the interest is.
Liverpool manager Klopp has a great reputation for working with young footballers, and perhaps he’s spotted another gem.
