Liverpool are seen as one of the clubs who are a threat and could take Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

As Sport Bild today writes about the 23-year-old, the Reds are listed as one of the clubs very interested in him.

The big issue for Bayer Leverkusen is that Frimpong’s contract includes a release clause worth just €40m.

Since that possibility does not end with the start of the Euros, there’s further worry that his appearances for the Netherlands could convince the interested clubs to come after him.

Liverpool are said to be ‘very interested’, as well as the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga giants even made contact for the signing, but are said to be ‘hesitant’.

Frimpong just had a great season for Bayer Leverkusen, with 14 goals and 12 assists in 47 appearances. He’s valued by Transfermarkt at €50m, so that makes it clear that the release clause may make him a bargain.

Since triggering the clause is something simple, Liverpool would then have to try to find a personal agreement and see if the winger is keen on making the move to Anfield.
