According to a claim in the Turkish media, Liverpool are still monitoring the situation with Galatasaray attacker Barış Alper Yılmaz.
The Turkey international has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including the Reds, in recent weeks following his performances at this summer’s Euros.
Fotomac today report on Liverpool’s pursuit of the 24-year-old, and they say the Premier League side are lining up an official offer for the right winger. It’s claimed a bid of €30m is being prepared but this might not enough to get a deal done.
The Turkish media outlet report Galatasaray are looking for bids in the region of €35m, which would smash the transfer record for a player being purchased from the Turkish Super Lig.
This seems incredibly optimistic from the Turkish club and it’s likely if he did arrive in England this summer it would be for a lower price. Claim Liverpool are offering €30m and that not being accepted feel hard to believe, so there’s the suspicion the interest is being exaggerated.
He started 28 Super Lig games last season, scoring seven goals. Yılmaz is contracted to Galatasaray until June 2027.
