Liverpool are one of the clubs chasing Bologna’s Jhon Lucumí for the summer window.

That’s according to AS in Colombia, and they cover Liverpool’s interest in the centre-back.

He’s been a regular since joining the Serie A club from KRC Genk in 2022 and made 106 appearances, of which 41 are from this season.

Barcelona and Inter Milan are also showing interest in the 26-year-old while recent claims from the UK have mentioned Liverpool.

AS’ Colombia edition states they’re able to confirm Liverpool are interested in the defender.

Liverpool came up against the Colombia international in their 2-0 Champions League win over Bologna earlier this season. The report claims the Premier League winners have been observing him, since probably their European clash against Bologna.

Lucumí’s contract is until 2026 but has already told the Italian club that he wants to leave after this season. Transfermarkt values him at €18m. AS say his dream is to move to La Liga or the Premier League, where Arne Slot’s side are in the picture to sign him.

The upcoming window will be Bologna’s last chance to earn a fee and to avoid losing him for free in 2026.

Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté, Joe Gomez and Jarell Quansah are all right footed. Lucumí is left-footed and could provide a balancing option for Slot if the Reds were to sign him.
