Atalanta’s appointment of John Murtough will revive the club’s ‘England market axis’ and could lead Ademola Lookman to Liverpool.

That’s according to Il Giorno, who cover the plans for the Italian club to make big sales to English clubs this summer.

The newspaper explains that Atalanta are looking to the Premier League and dream of ‘golden deals’ with clubs from England this summer.

The arrival of Murtough as Director of Global Development is sign of this plan and the Italian side will use him to focus on English football for sales.

One of the big departures is likely to be Ademola Lookman, who has had a very public falling out with Gian Piero Gasperini, and he will be one of the players Murtough looks to move on.

They want ‘pharaonic figures’ for their star players and Lookman is ‘in the sights of Liverpool’ ahead of the summer.

The Reds are expected to be busy reshaping their squad this summer and with the likes of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez linked with a move away from Anfield, their eye may be on forward options.

Lookman has been named as a target for the last month, with one report stating that they are showing ‘great interest’ in bringing him back to the Premier League.

Atalanta are ready to do business and make that happen, with the appointment of Murtough a sign that they want to sell to Premier League clubs this summer.
