Liverpool FC are reportedly keeping tabs on the Levante youngster Luis Gaston. The Merseyside club are said to be constantly scouting the player, according to Spanish website Fichajes, sister website of France’s FootMercato.

The outlet claims that the Reds officials have very good information after the many matches they’ve watched from the youngster.

Fichajes claims that Liverpool having Gaston as a target is part of a job started by Rafa Benítez in 2004, when the club started keeping an eye in young players from Spain.

It seems it’s a busy week for the Reds’ youth levels department. Earlier this week, Spanish newspaper Marca had also claimed that Liverpool were chasing the 19-year-old midfielder Marc Roca from Espanyol.

There was also the temporary move of a South American prospect to the club. As Peñarol director Rodolfo Catino exclusively told Sport Witness, 17-year-old striker Augusto Davilla is having a two-week trial with the reds. The agreement, however, doesn’t include a buying option as the Uruguayan club have no intention to sell him so soon.t
