There’s a claim coming from Marca on Sunday that we’re not entirely sure about. The Spanish newspaper have a feature on Real Betis goalkeeper Adan, who is having a great season.
Whilst Adan may well have been one of La Liga’s finest goalkeepers during the current campaign, that wouldn’t necessarily interest Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp has Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius to choose from and if he were to bring in another goalkeeper then they’d surely have to be of the very highest level, given neither of the current two have suggested that’s where they are.
Nevertheless, Marca say Adan’s low buyout clause of €8m sees clubs, with Liverpool and Marseille specifically named, flirt with the idea of triggering the amount.
Marca reckon that happens every window, which would mean Klopp pondering the same thing for the past three transfer periods.
Unless Mignolet leaves in the summer, which is a distinct possibility if Klopp edges back towards Karius, then this looks unlikely. As for this window, it’s looks even less likely.
