On Tuesday, Deportes Cope Valencia reported Liverpool have accelerated talks to sign Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
The Reds’ idea is to send the 23-year-old out on loan and AFC Bournemouth are an option for him.
Mamardashvili’s desire is to return to the La Liga side on loan, and this is backed up by Wednesday’s edition of AS and Marca.
Los Ches owner Peter Lim has requested €40m for the stopper, while Arne Slot’s side have refused to meet his request so far.
At the weekend, he started in his side’s defeat to Barcelona. The confidence shown by manager Rubén Baraja is one of the key reasons for him to continue at the club.
According to AS, the possibility of the Georgia international returning on loan has pleased all parties. This could help the two clubs close the deal for around €40m.
Meanwhile, Marca state Mamardashvili is keen to return to Valencia on loan and this was the condition imposed by the player himself to sign for Liverpool.
It’s claimed this formula brings the two clubs ‘closer to a definitive agreement’. This also indicates the Reds have accepted his condition.
The option to have the player continue at Valencia pleases both Baraja and the club. They are discussing with Liverpool about the terms of the agreement.
Marca add the two clubs are also negotiating the loan fee and the player’s salary. This will be deducted from the €40m.
