Liverpool have renewed Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk’s contracts and now face other similar situations arising. Ibrahima Konaté has a contract until 2026, and mild panic could start to grow soon.
Two months ago, Le Parisien reported the 25-year-old hadn’t accepted an offer presented by the Reds. They also dismissed Paris Saint-Germain interest in him.
Last week, Marca stated Real Madrid will wait until 2026 to try and sign the Liverpool player for free, in the same way they are about to sign Reds star Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Ouest-France claim Konaté continues to attract interest from other clubs and mention he’s been regularly linked to PSG and Real Madrid.
The France international will have decide whether to leave or continue at Anfield, but as of now, he hasn’t made a decision.
Despite Le Parisien dismissing the Ligue 1 winners’ interest, Ouest-France claim they are monitoring his situation. Real Madrid are reportedly looking to find out if they can sign the former RB Leipzig man for free next year.
Arne Slot’s side are ‘aware of the danger’ of losing Konaté and to avoid this, they intend to intensify talks to renew his contract.
Ouest-France state: ‘No decision has been made yet, but a conclusion is expected in the coming weeks.’
Whether that’s the case remains to be seen.
