Liverpool are ‘attentive’ to the situation around midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who wants to sort out his future as soon as possible.
That’s according to Sport, who say Liverpool are one of the clubs to have ‘sounded out’ the Moroccan midfielder about a potential transfer.
The newspaper explains that Amrabat wants to define his future in the coming weeks and does not want to wait to do so.
They cite journalist Achraf Ben Hayad, who says Amrabat is trying to arrange a transfer now amid potential interest from Barcelona.
He was close to signing for the Catalans in the January transfer window, but Fiorentina refused to put a purchase clause in the proposed loan deal, and he ended up remaining with the Italian side.
His entourage have been keeping in touch with Barcelona since then, but it is not yet clear whether the La Liga champions will make a move. At the moment they consider the €30m plus objectives asking price too high.
Thus, Amrabat could end up elsewhere and Liverpool are one of the sides to have ‘sounded him out’ about a potential move.
They’ve already signed Alexis Mac Allister as part of a summer rebuild but it is unlikely that he will be the only arrival at Liverpool in that department in the coming weeks.
Whether they would pay that figure for Amrabat isn’t mentioned but it seems that after waiting for Barcelona he may now look at other options and his objective is to leave Fiorentina ‘as soon as possible’.
