While things aren’t going great for Ivan Perisic at Tottenham, where the manager he followed from Inter Milan has since departed, he’s also been embroiled in some controversy on international duty.
This came in the first game of the break, when he had an argument with Andrej Kramaric, who failed to find him with a pass at an opportune time against Wales.
The Tottenham player was part of the press conference for Croatia alongside his manager Zlatko Dalic, where he was asked about the spat with his teammate, relayed by Jutarjni, and whether or not it could leave some marks in the squad.
Perisic said: “No, it makes no sense to say what happened. Everything that happens on the field is forgotten, let’s move on. There’s no need to waste energy on such things. Kramaric played a great game, scored a goal, set up two more chances, and I hope that the results will be better here in Turkey.”
The 34-year-old arrived at Tottenham on a free transfer from Inter, and was a regular under Antonio Conte this season.
Whether he continues to do so under Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason remains to be seen, but there’s a good chance he keeps his spot in the starting line up in the weeks to come.
To date, Perisic has made 36 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham, scoring one goal and picking up nine assists.
