Leonardo Gabbanini, who was working as Tottenham’s chief scout until September, is about to get a new job, according to reports from Italy.
TGR Rai Roscana, relayed by Viola News, writes that Roberto Goretti is now in advanced talks to take charge of Fiorentina this summer.
The club are then expected to hold a meeting with Gabbanini in the coming hours. He’s been unemployed since leaving Tottenham and is looking to return to the game.
La Viola will start the new season with many new faces in their staff, also bringing some experience from abroad.
Gabbanini had been working in England for a while. He was Watford’s chief scout between 2015 and 2022, sharing this with a position at Udinese, who belong to the same owners. In the summer of 2022 he took the job at Tottenham, when he joined his compatriot Antonio Conte at the club.
The scout left the job just a couple of months after Ange Postecoglou took charge. Working at Fiorentina, who finished 8th in Serie A this season, he’ll surely find a whole different reality when it comes to signings.
