At Bologna since 2018 when the Serie A club spent £4m or so on his services from Malmö FF, Mattias Svanberg is now a target for some pretty big clubs.

That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported on Tuesday that Milan have added him to their list, while both Leicester and Southampton also like him.

The Italian journalist explains there have been ‘contacts in the last few hours’ between the two Serie A sides, but it’s made clear Bologna ‘don’t want to sell’.

That means the same applies for both Brendan Rodgers and Ralph Hasenhüttl, suggesting this might be a transfer that could come to fruition more easily in the summer.

Milan do appear to have an advantage over Leicester and Southampton, however, as Di Marzio explains ‘the relationship between the two Italian clubs is good’.

This is the first we’ve seen of the Foxes or the Saints linked with the 22-year-old Swede, so we’ll be keeping an eye on things, as the last time we heard of him regarding a move to England was when Brighton & Hove Albion and Burnley decided to send scouts to watch him and Riccardo Orsolini.
