Leicester City’s Nathan Opoku has been on loan at OH Leuven since the winter market.
Earlier this month, the striker admitted he’s unsure of where he’ll play next season as he hasn’t heard from the Foxes or the Belgian club.
Four days ago, reports from Belgium stated Leicester won’t regret letting the 21-year-old continue at the Jupiler Pro League side. It was also explained Leuven manager Marc Brys is still to make a decision on the Ghanaian.
Het Nieuwsblad now state the ‘chances are increasing’ for the Leicester owned player to stay at Leuven for one more season.
Opoku is still not eligible to obtain a work permit to represent Leicester next season. This will increase Leuven’s chances of extending his loan deal.
In addition to this, Brys, who had expressed doubts a few weeks ago, is now ‘certain that he wants to continue’ working with the frontman next season.
Meanwhile, Opoku has revealed Leicester will make a decision on his future soon.
“I feel important here. Until now I was never better than now, but I keep learning and can do even better,” he said.
“Leicester will decide my future, but I certainly wouldn’t mind staying. I feel good here. The decision will be made in the coming days or weeks at the latest.”
The striker has managed three goals and an assist from seven games for Leuven.
