Leicester City are one of three clubs chasing Galatasaray’s Yunus Akgün, according to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu.

He took to Twitter to claim the Foxes, FC Nantes and Bordeaux have all made ‘official offers’ to sign the winger on a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option.

Sabuncuoğlu adds Leicester are willing to offer €7m to the Turkish champions to make Akgün’s stay permanent while the fee the two French clubs are ready to propose is €1m less.

This could help Enzo Maresca’s side beat both Nantes and Bordeaux to sign the 23-year-old even though the journalist makes no mention of who’s currently ahead in the transfer race.

A move to the King Power will see the player feature in Championship after Leicester’s relegation last season. It’s similar with Bordeaux, who failed to climb back to Ligue 1. Nantes, on the other hand, are in the top division.

Akgün spent the last two seasons on loan at Adana Demirspor, where he scored 16 goals and registered 20 assists from 70 games. If he were to leave Galatasaray again on loan, it needs to be seen where he’ll end up next.
