As recently covered by us, Leicester City seem to be on the verge of losing the race for Lucas Beraldo to Paris Saint-Germain.
Even though the Foxes were said to have advanced talks for the signing, the French side showed up and are said to be one step from closing an agreement with São Paulo.
Brazilian outlets still disagree on whether PSG’s offer has already been accepted or not. But as Estadão writes about the situation, they show why Leicester City didn’t win the battle.
The outlet says that regardless of the amount offered by the Foxes, the fact they’re in the Championship is a ‘problem in itself’.
It’s claimed that Beraldo would be ‘hidden’ in England, with ‘inferior visibility’ there.
Some outlets in Brazil have been claiming that São Paulo already accepted the €20m offered by PSG, which was supposed to be the same amount Leicester City would put on the table.
Perhaps the Foxes would have been able to get a chance to fight against the French club had they been in the Premier League, but while they remain in the Championship, it’s a tough battle to be in at this moment in time.
