After turning down multiple offers, Saint-Étienne finally accepted Leicester City’s bid for Wesley Fofana in the last week of the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old was the only centre-back to arrive at the King Power, and has played every minute after October’s international break.

Juventus’ Merih Demiral was also linked with the Foxes, and the English club submitted a proposal for the Serie A centre-back.

That’s what Calciomercato reported on Sunday. The Italian website states Andrea Pirlo ‘blocked’ three of his players from leaving the Old Lady in the last window, and the Turkey international is among them.

It’s claimed Brendan Rodgers’ side made a ‘monstrous offer’ for the defender, but Juve ‘refused’ the bid made by the Premier League club. The report doesn’t specify the details of the offer.

The new Juventus manager took the decision on the 22-year-old with the leaders of the club.

Demiral has featured regularly for the Italian champions this season and Calciomercato states the defender is ‘proving to be fundamental’ for Juventus under Pirlo.
