Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Notícias brings today a story on Gonzalo Plata and his near future at Sporting.
They claim that the winger hasn’t been used a lot, but still, manager Rúben Amorin wants to keep him as an alternative for the rest of the season.
Things is that there are several clubs who are interested in signing the Ecuadorian international, and one of them are Leicester City.
Jornal de Notícias says the Foxes are willing to invest ‘some millions’ on the player, and have the competition from Napoli for him.
It’s claimed that Sporting will analyse all the offers they get, but still, they’d rather wait for a time when the player is more valued.
The Lions are also worried about the percentage they’d have from the sale, since they only own 50% of Gonzalo Plata, and are willing to buy the other half from Independiente del Valle very soon.
Leicester City and Napoli are the only clubs named in the story, but Jornal de Notícias says there are ‘many’ from England and Spain who want him in January.
