Leicester City have reportedly not given up on signing Adrién Silva from Sporting.
According to A Bola, the Foxes could make another attempt to buy the player in January, offering a higher amount this time.
Despite Adrien Silva’s public statement saying he’d like to join Leicester, Sporting officially rejected the offer made in the summer, which created an awkward situation at the club.
That first bid was reportedly €25m, but the Portuguese club said he wouldn’t be leaving for less than his release clause, which is €45m.
Adrien is currently focused on his work at the club, as despite all the mess of the deadline day, he recovered his captain’s armband and is still considered to be one of the most important players in the squad.
He hasn’t talked about the Leicester transfer again, which is understandable, so it’s hard to know how would he react if he had another chance to make the move.
Adrien was clearly keen in the summer, but Sporting may be even less likely to sell in the January window.
