Leicester City showing the door to Brendan Rodgers, as the club battle against relegation, means there’s now multiple clubs in the Premier League without permanent managers.
Tottenham got there first, parting ways with Antonio Conte after his outburst against the club, then Leicester City dispensed with Rodgers, and on Sunday evening it was Chelsea’s turn.
The Blues sacked Graham Potter, after he was unable to make their random and expensive signings gel. The former Brighton manager is already being strongly linked with the Foxes, but he’s not the only one.
Rafa Benitez has been without a job since leaving his role at Everton, a role which didn’t go very well for anyone involved.
Monday’s edition of Marca says the Foxes are ‘knocking on the door’ of the manager, and have presented the Spaniard with an offer. They state he’s yet to give an answer to Leicester.
Marca make clear this is their own information, and that could be key. The Spanish newspaper have had repeated interviews with Benitez and clearly have a direct line to the manager.
